Material

Lining/Wiring
Although many t-shirt bras have an underwire, there are some that don’t. However, if you’re looking for a more lifted look, your best bet will probably be to choose something with underwire. “A wire separates breasts and tacks onto the body better for a secure fit and a lifted, separated look,” says Caldwell. If all you’re after is comfort, go wire-free for sure, though.
When it comes to lining, it’s all about preference. If you’re looking for a little more push-up, you may want to opt something with more padding, but if you prefer something light and breathable, most lightly-lined bras will do.
Size
It is important that any t-shirt bras you buy are the correct size. “You should avoid any gaps or bubbling over in the cup, which takes away from the smooth look,” explains Caldwell.
Those with bigger boobs may want to consider full-coverage cups if they plan on wearing a low-cut t-shirt or dress, though. “Fuller coverage is great for those with softer breast tissue that might try to slip out of a more plunging neckline or less coverage option,” explains Caldwell. But again, choose what feels best to you—let that be your number one takeaway.
