Best Early Amazon Prime Day Mattress Deals: Official Dates 2023

[ad_1]

Alas, the moment shoppers around the world have all been waiting for: Amazon Prime Day 2023 (if you haven’t heard of it, it’s Amazon’s annual sale, held exclusively for Prime members). The retailer announced the specific days of the sale, and as The Women’s Health team predicted, it will hit in mid-July for two days, from July 11 to 12.

While Amazon offers discounts on everything from beauty products to sneakers during Prime Day, our strategy for attacking the sale is to purchase products that are typically pricey, but are now available at a discounted price. Our first order of business: mattresses.

Mattresses can get expensive (I’m talking up to $3,000), but there’s no need to burn a hole through your wallet when there are major early-access deals to help you save during the upcoming “holiday.” From popular brands like Casper and Nectar to budget-friendly brands such as Molblly and Olee Sleep, WH editors have found all the best mattress deals to shop before Amazon Prime Day 2023. Read on to find the best fit for you.

The biggest discount of the bunch is on the Signature Design by Ashley Memory Foam Mattress (hint: it’s currently on sale for 53 percent off). If you like a memory foam mattress (you know, the ones that contour to the shape of your hand the moment you press on it), then you’ll love this luxurious mattress. Its super cushioned base supports your weight evenly and relieves pressure so you wake up feeling nimble and rested come morning. “I was very weary about purchasing a mattress online,” writes on reviewer. “However, my experience has been very good with this mattress. It is thick, firm, and extremely comfortable. I’ve had many good night’s sleeps and no more back pain since getting this mattress.”

There’s also the Flash Furniture Capri Comfortable Sleep Mattress, which is on sale for 48 percent off, with over 8,217 five-star reviews and a 4.4-star rating. If you’re looking for a mattress that cradles your body in every position and claims to relieve pressure points, add this one to-cart. As an added bonus, the mattress ships compressed, rolled, and boxed in slim packaging, so it’s super easy to set up and it’s safe to sleep on immediately.

The Olee Sleep Memory Foam Mattress is also a WH editor fave—the full size is on sale for 45 percent off now. According to reviews, this mattress is “just right.” Perfectly firm yet bouncy and soft, it feels like you’re drifting away on a (supportive) cloud every time you lay on it. Lovers of this mattress also say that even after years of use, it still feels new with no signs of deterioration.

Last, but definitely not least is the Molblly Cooling-Gel Memory Foam Mattress. Designed with three unique foam layers—gel memory foam, a comfort layer, and high-density support foam—this mattress (it has 4.2 stars!) eases pressure points all over the body while you snooze. If anything ever happens to it, worry not—the brand offers a 10 year-long warranty.

Feeling sleepy yet? I’d suggest pressing Add to Cart on one of these mattresses, stat!

What are the dates for Amazon Prime Day 2023?

Amazon has yet to announce the dates for Amazon Prime Day 2023. Previously, the major sale has occurred in late June or mid-July (in 2022, it hit on July 12 and 13 and in 2021, it hit on June 21 and June 22), so the WH team predicts it will fall between those dates this year, too.

Who can participate in Prime Day 2023?

Have an Amazon Prime subscription? You’re in luck—the deals on Prime Day are only available for those that do. However, if you’re not a Prime member yet, you can opt in to a 30-day free trial. The subscription only costs $15 per month(plus tax), but it grants you access to free two-day shipping, Amazon Prime Video, and exclusive discounts at Whole Foods Market.

What to consider before buying a new mattress

W. Christopher Winter, MD, sleep specialist and author of The Sleep Solution says it’s best to go to a mattress store and check things out. But sometimes that just isn’t possible, and it limits your options, too. So if you’re shopping online, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the different mattress types out there, Carleara Weiss, Ph.D., member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine says.

Some of the most common ones you’ll want to learn about are hybrid, memory foam, and latex.

  • Hybrid mattresses combine the coils of an innerspring mattress with a memory foam top. This provides foundational support with the flexibility of memory foam.
  • Memory foam mattresses are made entirely of foam material that adjust and mold to the body of the person sleeping on it.
  • Latex mattresses are made of eco-friendly materials that provides bounce and shape, especially for side sleepers. They can be more expensive and bulky, but they’re often customizable to create the perfect mattress for you.

How regularly should you replace your mattress?

According to Sleep Foundation, mattresses should be replaced every six to eight years. But, there are other factors that also influence when your mattress needs to be tossed. If it’s negatively effecting your sleep, noticeably saggy, making more noise than usual, you notice an increase in allergies, or you regularly wake up with stiff muscles and joints it’s time to invest in a new one.
