Mermaid Kariel is a mermaid, creator, artist and entrepreneur, who calls herself “the world’s most versatile professional mermaid,” per her website.

Kariel has been dreaming about this career since she was little, and currently works at events in Oahu, Hawaii. Oh, and she makes her own costumes after fashioning her first swimmable mermaid tail back in 2009, which is pretty darn impressive. You can buy your very own mermaid merch on her website.

As a member of the mermaid community, Kariel is dedicated to “[using] her talents to inspire others to believe in themselves, bravely follow their dreams, share their own unique talents so they can make a positive impact in our world.” So, you’ve got to imagine she is going to mix things up in the doc.
