Calling all Claim To Fame fans! ABC’s hit reality show, hosted by Kevin and Franklin Jonas, is officially back for its second season, and people are absolutely *buzzing* about the new cast and some major spoilers.
As with season 1, the show kicked off with 12 contestants, each one related to a mystery celebrity. (ICYMI, the point of the show is to figure out who the boldface name is in everyone’s family tree.) There’s a clue wall in the contestants’ mansion that holds objects hinting at each person’s secret celebrity relationship. The wall provides the cast and fans at home with clues to help them uncover contestants’ true identity.
And if you’ve found yourself reading this article, that probably means you’re here for some juicy spoilers. Here’s the good news: Reddit and Instagram users have already started putting the pieces together (more on that in a second).

Spoilers ahead! Don’t read past this point unless you want to see some matchups.
How does the show work?
Twelve contestants share clues that hint at their celebrity relative. The only twist is that some of those “clues” are actually red herrings to throw off the other players. The overall goal is to be the last one to successfully hide your relative’s identity, keeping it a secret without being figured out by the other contestants.
Each week, the contestants complete a series of challenges. The winner of each challenge will be exempt from being identified, and the bottom two will have to wait while the house determines which will be selected as the “guesser.” The guesser then selects another member of the house and tries to guess their celebrity relative.
If they’re correct, the person matched with their celebrity relative will be sent home. But if they’re wrong, the guesser’s celebrity connection will be revealed, and they’ll be sent home, instead. The winner will receive a $100,000 prize.
Who are the cast members of Claim To Fame season 2?
A big part of the show is that many of the contestants hide their identities by coming up with fake names. So, while these are the names they go by on the show, it might not be their actual names:
- Carly
- JR
- Chris
- Karsyn
- Jane
- Cole
- Travis
- Shayne
- Gabriel
- Monay
- Hugo
- Olivia

What happened in season 2 episode 1 of claim to fame?
During episode 1, the contestants started their introductions with a simple game of “Two Truths and a Lie,” where each person tells three “facts” about themselves, hiding a lie amid two real facts. And while some “facts” were convincing, others not so much. Afterwards, the group went to their mansion to look at the clue wall, which contained items like a playbook, buttons, a bow tie, a dinosaur, a bench, and a piano.
For their first challenge, the cast participated in a talent show that was scored by an audience. Some contestants took it as an opportunity to sway the competition, while others leaned into their true talents to win over the audience and secure elimination immunity.
While Jane, one of the contestants, was watching the talent show, she mentioned that Chris (who sang and played the guitar for his act) had eyes like John Mayer. She also said that she felt very confident Travis was related to Neil deGrasse Tyson because of the way he talked and the fact that he was able to recite Pi by memory. At the end of the challenge, Travis took home first place, which kept him safe from elimination, and JR and Hugo slid to the bottom two.
Throughout the first few days, several players also noticed that Carly would often deflect anytime the “bench” on the clue wall was brought up. She also did a rap and comedy sketch for the talent show, which made people think she was related to Jim Carey or Tom Hanks.
When it came down to the voting ceremony, Hugo, the guesser, correctly guessed that Carly was related to Tom Hanks (she is, in fact, his niece), which led to some post-elimination tears and screams.
Who has been guessed so far?
So far, Carly has been the only contestant guessed. However, some fans on Reddit seem to have connected the dots already. Here’s who they think they’ve found in the poster so far:
Who else are fans guessing?
Some people think that Jane is related to Jenny McCarthy or Dolly Parton. However, this guess hasn’t been confirmed yet, so you’ll just have to tune in to find out.

Before the premiere, two trailers were shared online. The first showed contestants taking on a series of challenges. You can hear one contestant say that someone was “really good at lying,” and another adding, “You can’t trust anybody here.” It also hints at some tension in the house and major drama following an elimination.

The second trailer, shared via Twitter, revealed a bit more about possible celebrity ties. “I’m lying about everything,” said one contestant. “I think she’s related to Janet Jackson,” chimed another.
More A-lister names like Gal Gadot, Harrison Ford, and Anne Hathaway were also thrown around as possible connections, but those probably won’t be confirmed until later in the season.

Who won ‘Claim To Fame’ season 1?
L.C. (also known as Loreal Palmer), won the whole season, and she was later revealed to be Keke Palmer‘s older sister.
There was speculation about L.C.’s identity all season, and Reddit users thought the editing cuts hinted at her win. “This might come out of nowhere, and I don’t know if anyone would care about it, but I’m a big Survivor fan, and I really enjoy edit analysis,” one user wrote, according to Newsweek. “I just discovered the show today, and I just watched all five episodes back to back. I think L.C. is getting a winners edit, and Logan is the Fallen Angel (a really good player that the winner has to overcome).”
There’s also the fact that L.C. was the only person sticking to their strategy. “From what we’ve seen, L.C. is the only one who actively tried to make people think her celebrity relative is someone else, which is working,” wrote another user, per Newsweek.
L.C.’s famous relative (and her claim to fame), Keke Palmer, also shared her feelings about her sister’s progress on the show.
“I’m living for her being on Claim To Fame, I mean she is giving her all. I’m so proud of her,” Keke told ET. “You know, everybody in my family is a real character, and obviously she’s my older sister, so a lot of what you see and know of as me, I got from her. So I’m very excited.”
What else happened during season 1?
If you’re trying to brush up on the essentials from last season before tonight’s premiere, here’s a recap:
In Part II of the finale, eliminated contestants were brought back to the house—either to stir the pot or just hang out. The last challenge was a game of truth or dare, which L.C. won, advancing to the final two and choosing the night’s guesser. She picked Logan, who guessed that Dean Martin was Pepper’s grandfather, and since he was correct, that left L.C. and Logan in the final two, per Distractify. Then, L.C. chose herself to be the final guesser, guessing that Logan’s relative was Jason Aldean…which was correct, making her the winner of the $100,000 jackpot.
Since the show ended, the contestants have remained super close and talk often, L.C. told PEOPLE.
You’ll have to stay tuned for more spoilers as the season progresses. And if there’s one thing I know, it’s that Reddit will be popping off with more theories in no time.
